Short Breaks

We can arrange a variety of Short Break Riding Holidays to suit your needs. The most popular is our 1 ½ day riding break, where people arrive at Joyce’s home, Shotgun Cottage, South Harting, in time for supper on Friday evening. After a hearty breakfast, there is a full day ride on Saturday, and dinner, bed and breakfast Saturday night and a 2 hour hack Sunday morning - probably staying for a light lunch at the stables before driving home.

 

We also offer 2 and 3 day riding breaks with dinner, bed and breakfast. Wine is served with dinner and we use local meat and vegetables of the highest quality in our home cooking. We are happy to meet people at either Petersfield or Haslemere stations (approximately 1 hour from Waterloo).

We also arrange several 3 and 4 day trail rides during the year and either stay at other farmhouses or leave the horses and return to South Harting and a familiar bed. We have two excellent Public Houses within walking distance in the village and sometimes take our guests out to supper. If we do stay away for a night, luggage is transported as required.

If you have your own horse and want to experience our riding for a day or short break please call us - we are happy to have you join us or complete your own ride and use our horse and rider accommodation!
Non-riders are also welcome to stay and enjoy the nearby South Downs whilst we ride and we welcome guests on a B & B basis at any time with masses of opportunities for walking, bird watching and cycling. The area is full of interesting places to visit - within a 30 minute drive there are many local historic attractions and the market towns of Petersfield, Midhurst and Chichester. Slightly further away, historic Winchester, naval Portsmouth, regal Bognor and the Coast are all under an hour away.
